Our first host in Scotland was exceptionally friendly, welcoming and encouraging. We told her so and thanked her for everything. She answered: „Everything goes downhill from here – so I heard.“ We laughed about it – but in the end she was right: No other host was more warm-hearted, honestly interested, and welcoming than her.
Sometimes I feel like I am at exactly the same point in my life: Everything goes downhill from here … and I don’t feel like laughing about it.
